The La Brea Tar Pits is one of the central locations on planet Earth where the majority of prehistoric animals perished, sinking deep into the black pit called tar. The adjacent museum the George C. Page Museum exhibits reconstructed dinosaur fossils found from many archaeologists over the years for anyone to tour the museum. Many events are held at the La Brea Tar Pits Park such as Tarfest, the annual sponsored music and arts festival. As well as many schools from a plethora of school districts, utilize the Museum for scientific and archaeological studies.
