Tarfest

The Tarfest is an annual musical and art festival held at the La Brea Tar Pits Park, within the Miracle Mile District of Los Angeles California. The annual event is sponsored by Launch LA, a non-profit social art organization created to facilitate, and showcase local artists. The Tarfest hosts free live concerts from local bands such as Brainstory, an alternative rock /pop band, just one of many musicians to play at the event. As well as painting artists such as Ekundayo, Melany Dierks, Shepard Fairey and Jabu as some even complete their masterpieces on the La Brea Tar Pits site themselves. This sponsored event is one of the many unique events held at La Brea Tar Pits and George C. Page Museum. Many catering trucks such as Baby’s Badass Burgers come from miles around, to cater food for the annual event.  As well as a booth for the Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce, with a bird’s-eye view of the festival.
