Mole-Richardson Co., is one of the oldest Motion Picture lighting distributors and rentals in Hollywood, which was originally founded by Peter Mole and Elmer C. Richardson in 1927. Once located in a building occupied by the Modern Craft Laundry Company at 900 N La Brea Ave., and designed by master architects Morgan, Walls, and Clements, who also designed the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Blvd, the 84-year-old building later became the home of Mole-Richardson Company’s Studio Depot.
However, in June of 2014 the Mole-Richardson Studio Depot was demolished, without any prior public notice. Now with a more modern urban housing development in place, with Shubin Donaldson, Los Angeles based Modern Architects at the helm 900 La Brea Mixed Use is this urban infill’s next resident. Today, Mole-Richardson Co., has moved it’s corporate headquarter to the city of Pacoima, California in the San Fernando Valley. With Studio Depot a division of Mole-Richardson, located in the city of Burbank, California respectively.
It is duly noted that Mole-Richardson Co., also reserves a booth at Cine Gear Expo held annually at Paramount Pictures Studios in June. And they have won several awards at the exhibit, over the past years.
