Streetlights PA’s is a Non-Profit organization located at the historic Raleigh Studios on the Van Ness Ave side. The organization is for young Adults 20 and over with low-income, or for those who meet with adversity economically and reside in or near the County of Los Angeles, California. These young Adults must have access to a motor vehicle, and possesses a valid drivers licence with valid auto insurance. This entry-level training is for the Production Assistant’s career path, with regards to below-the-line Film, Television and Commercial production training.
At Streetlights PA’s, they adhere to the creed of creating diversity in Hollywood period, which is of the utmost importance within the many levels of the filmmaking process. The development phase of a Production Assistant is no different from that of a major star, and sky is the limit when it comes to career advancement.
However, apparently there’s no union Local that represents Production Assistants per se, but it’s the Production Coordinator, whom the Production Assistant reports to that is represented by IATSE Local 871, just like if you’re a Grip represented by IATSE Local 80, our @grip-department‘s favorite, so it is not recommended to remain a Production Assistant for very long. Opportunities however are very likely for those who have a very strong work ethic, and wish to move up the latter within the entertainment industry, above or below-the-line. So light up the City with Streetlights PA’s.
This training program is not for everyone. You must be in good physical shape and able to lift 50 lbs. It is a very tough and competitive field. If you really want to be in the Entertainment Industry, it takes is a strong work ethic, a good attitude, punctuality, and above all common sense.
