Walt Disney Studios

The Walt Disney Studios originally founded by famous Cartoonist Walt Disney, is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company. Within this media conglomerate there are many companies in various divisions, that function as Film Production, and Television Programming, Disney Animation, Radio Disney and much more. The studio sits in the city of Burbank California and has been at this location since 1940. Mr. Disney’s late wife, Lillian Disney who was also an Artist at the studio, dedicated the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles in his name, which was built in 2003, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra for all to enjoy.

The huge success of Walt Disney Studios comes mostly from the animation departments, starting with Walt Disney’s foundation character Mickey Mouse. Which helped to cultivate subsidiary Production Companies such as Disney Pixar who is responsible for such hit movies such as the Cars Movie Franchise. As well as the older classics such as Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Robin Hood, etc. And the newer classics such as Lion King, Toy Story, The Princess and The Frog, Incredibles, Finding Nemo etc.

Over the many years of operations, the Disney Studios has acquired many other Production Companies that produce mega hit live action Motion Pictures, such Marvel Studios and of course Lucasfilm which produces the Star Wars franchise. The most recent acquisition however is one of the biggest deals made in modern Entertainment history, which is the acquisition of 80 percent of 20^th Century Fox.  Now, the majority of Fox’s catalog of motion pictures, as well as current and  future films in production belongs to Disney Studios. And they just keep on getting bigger, and bigger.
